Description:

Let’s just say, my inner 14 year old thrives listening to basically any Bad Suns music, but it thrives and soars to new heights with the newest album, Mystic Truth. If I could define this album in three words, it would be BIG, energy, LOVE. The whole album reminds me of a movie soundtrack about two teenagers who fall in love after realizing they have so much more in common than what’s beyond their physical appearance (though both are physically astonishing, probably). The music is loud, vibrant, drums stacked against your cliched guitar riffs but still find a good place in your heart. My ultimate favorite song on the album is definitely “One Magic Moment.” I can clearly picture two lovers on opposite sides of the earth like rushing to the airport to catch the *last* flight to the other person, followed by a dramatic reunion. Music that can unfold a really magical scene in your head is music that deserves to be heard. That being said, Bad Suns, like many other musicians, have a tendency to sound a little bit uniform. This album sort of embraced that tendency, and the songs sounded similar. I won’t harp on this too much because it was all still really enjoyable. If you’re looking for a light and fun rock fest, this is your album!

Sounds Like: Smallpools, Coast Modern

Recommended Tracks:

2. One Magic Moment – if you’re into sappy romantic movies and fun music

4. The World And I – more rebellion-vibes and harsh drums/guitars

5. Love By Mistake – just cute
